Worst-rated game of 2024 has become the best-selling – why people are clamouring to buy it

LAST year might have been the best year ever for gaming, and 2024 is pushing that with an incredibly strong start.

However, it’s not some of the excellent 90+ rated games that have topped the charts this week, but a critical flop.

In the past few weeks there have been a number of incredible games released, but none of them topped the charts.

Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth scored an incredible 93 rating on Metacritic, and was the second best-selling game in the first week, dropping to 28th this week.

Tekken 8 has done similarly well with a 92 rating, and it was rewarded by reaching third this week.

The second best-selling game of the week, Persona 3 Reload, stunned fans and critics earning an excellent 89 rating.

However, it’s one of the worst-reviewed games of the year by both players and critics that has topped the charts.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League scored 63 with critics and 39 with fans making it one of the most poorly received games of the year so far.

Despite this, it’s the best-selling game of the week, likely due to pre-orders and the popularity of DC Comics characters.

The list is rounded out by some of the most popular games of last year, and some games that have endured excellent sales over the years.
