WHOLESALE gas prices have risen to their highest level since February.
They surged to 140p-a-therm , up 25p on a week ago.

The increase could push consumer inflation higher making it “squeaky bum time for the Bank of England”, said Simon French, economist at Panmure Gordon.
Under-siege Israel has shut its Tamar gas field which could lead to a drop in exports to Egypt.
Some of that supply usually goes on to Europe.
A leak has also been found in the Estonia- Finland pipeline.

Finland considers it sabotage.
Finland’s National Bureau of Investigation said that rupturing the pipeline would require “special knowledge”.
Detective Inspector Timo Kilpelainen told reporters: “This act could not have been done by an ordinary person.”
Analysts said the attack could be Russian president Vladimir Putin’s retaliation against Finland for joining Nato, a switch from its decades-long neutrality.
