WITH Bonfire Night and Diwali celebrations just around the corner, we’ve rounded up the major supermarkets where you can buy fireworks.

This Friday – November 5 – will see skies around the UK lit up with colourful Catherine wheels, rockets, and sparklers.

For those planning to create their own display, we’ve looked at the cheapest fireworks available – from sparklers to finale boxes – from major supermarkets.

But note you’ll need to be at least 18 years old to purchase fireworks.

The supermarkets are also only selling them in store only rather than online.

In addition, you should check what regulations your local council has in force regarding fireworks.

In most cases, you’ll need to be finished by 11pm – except on the actual night of Bonfire Night where the cut-off is midnight.

It comes as the sales of fireworks become increasingly under scrutiny amid concerns raised by charities that they cause unnecessary distress to pets, wildlife and elderly people.

This year, Sainsbury’s has once again banned the sale of fireworks from all of its stores.

But have other shops followed suit? We explain where you can buy your bangers this year.

Asda

Asda has confirmed to The Sun that it will be selling fireworks in its stores for Bonfire Night.

It said that it would be offering both traditional fireworks and “low/no noise” options.

For example, we spotted it was selling a box of low noise fireworks for £10.

It’s also selling boxes of normal fireworks for £6 each.

Or if you have a bigger budget, the supermarket is selling Space Blitz boxes, totalling 93 shots for £55.

You can only buy fireworks in stores, according to its website.

It’s a good idea to check ahead with your local store to see if they have boxes available – you can find where your nearest one is using Asda’s store locator tool.

You can get your fireworks from Aldi this year.

The discount supermarket confirmed to The Sun that it would be selling normal fireworks, and has increased the number of low noise options this year too.

All fireworks are labelled with a “volume rating”, so customers can pick and choose to buy quieter ones if they live with older people or have pets.

Options include giant gold sparklers for £1.99, Hawk Eye rockets for £9.99, a Spintacular show for £17.99 and a mega finale pack called The boss for £59.99.

You can find where your nearest Aldi store is by using the supermarket’s online store checker tool.

The supermarket started offering fireworks in stores from Friday.

Prices range from £1.99 for sparklers to £49.99 for a pack of two fireworks.

You can even get three “The Equaliser” selection boxes for £30 from the supermarket.

Not all shops will be selling them though – it’s best to check ahead to see if your local store is offering them.

You can find where your nearest Lidl store is using the supermarket’s online shop locator tool.

Tesco has also confirmed that it will be selling fireworks this year.

Last year, it didn’t sell any big boxes of bangers, offering low-noise ones instead.

But this year the supermarket is offering a whole range of fireworks.

These include Titanium Sparklers for £1, low-noise options like the Carnival Selection Box from £7, and a whopping ten different selection boxes in the Firework Party Kit for £110.

Clubcard holders can also get two “Northern Lights” selection box for £20.

You can check where your nearest Tesco store is – and if they’re selling fireworks – using the supermarket’s store locator tool.

You’ll be able to order your fireworks to pick up from your local Morrisons store this bonfire night.

The supermarket is working alongside supplier Direct Fireworks where you can order your displays online and pick them up in supermarkets until November 7.

Prices range from 50p for packs of sparklers to a massive £125 for a box of multiple fireworks.

However, it’s best to check to see if you can pick up your package from your local store or whether you’ll have to go further.

You can get more information and check where your local store is using Morrison’s store locator tool.

Elsewhere, we explain everything you need to know about Bonfire Night.

If putting your own display on is not for you, then we are also tracking local fireworks displays and bonfire events around the UK.
