WHATSAPP has come up with another way to keep your top secret chats private.
The Meta-owned app has been working on a number of new features lately, such as a new AI chatbox.
Where privacy is concerned, the app already has a number of tricks to stop snoopers from nosing at your messages.
Users can lock chats and even hide them from the list entirely with a special code.
But a loophole has allowed prying eyes to look at texts on WhatsApp one way.
The secret code feature only worked on your main phone.

So, if your WhatsApp account is connected to another device and someone has access to it, they can see everything.
According to new leaked screenshots obtained by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on a way to stop this.
It shows how attempting to access a locked chat from a paired device will now prompt users to get a secret code from their main handset.
“To open locked chats on this device, you first need to create a secret code,” a popup reads.

As the feature was spotted in an early beta version of WhatsApp you won’t be able to benefit right away.
We’ll have to wait and see when – and indeed if – the messaging app decides to make it available to the wider public.
Before then, why not try some of WhatsApp’s new features that are already available?
The platform recently added secret codes that change the look and style of your message.
