As the summer winds down, new streaming titles offer another opportunity for escape—to a luxury resort, the isolation of the desert, the tranquility of a happy forest, or just getting out of Seattle. Here’s where to stream them all.
New Release: ‘Family Reunion’
(Netflix)
Several years ago, Meg DeLoatch says she was in a meeting with a Netflix executive who told her that he was looking for a TV show about an African-American family that goes to church.
“And I’m like, well, clearly I can do this,” she says. “I’m African-American, I grew up in the church. I can talk about my own life.”
The idea quickly became “Family Reunion,” a sitcom that premiered in 2019 and returns for “Part Four” on Thursday. The series follows the McKellan family—Tia Mowry as Cocoa, and Anthony Alabi as Moz, a former Seahawks player—that decides to move from Seattle to Georgia after attending a family reunion.
