FNCS 2024 is kicking off today with the first Open Qualifiers across all regions, and you may be wondering if you are eligible to join Fortnite’s top tournament.
Even though the FNCS, which stands for Fortnite Championship Series, is Fortnite’s premier esports competition, non-pros who meet the requirements can still join the fray.

Here’s everything you need to know about participating in the FNCS 2024, including the required rank to play at the Open Qualifiers.
In 2024, FNCS preserves the duos format, which means that players compete in teams of two.
As the name suggests, the Open Qualifiers are, well, open to non-professional players, but there is still a minimum rank required to test your skills and luck.
What rank do you have to be to play FNCS 2024?
To participate in the FNCS 2024 Open Qualifiers, you and your duos partner must have reached at least Platinum I rank in Fortnite’s Ranked Battle Royale.

Each Open Qualifier has four rounds and only the top duos that have earned the most points over 10 matches, played in the span of 3 hours, advance to the next round.
Is FNCS 2024 played in person?
The three Majors and the preceding two Open Qualifiers for each Major, are held online, with competitors playing from their homes.
The Majors’ Grand Finals, which are played after the Upper and Lower Semi-Finals of each Major have been decided, also take place online.
The culmination of the FNCS is the Global Championship, where the best duos from the Majors’ Grand Finals will face off in a massive in-person event with a live audience.

How can I watch FNCS 2024?
The FNCS 2024 will be broadcast across multiple streaming platforms, including inside Fortnite itself.
