TikTok users are combining a salad and a sandwich to create what is being called the TikTok grinder sandwich, Bustle reports.
The trending sandwich contains a coleslaw-like salad with the other ingredients being similar to a classic Italian deli sandwich.
According to the outlet, the “grinder” part of the sandwich is the “grinder salad.”
TikTok’s grinder sandwich also contains mayo, lettuce, onion, and a customizable mix of seasonings, with one’s choice of deli meat.
Bustle also credits the TikTok user @ohheyimgray for starting the trend.
On March 28, 2022, the user shared the sandwich on her account that her boyfriend made her.
She captioned the post: “BF MAKES ME ANOTHER SANDO. One of my all time faves: Italian grinder. I say it’s a “grinder” bc that’s what it was on the menu at pops. But this is on focaccia he baked the day before. Put the grinder salad on ANY SANDO to make it amazing ok byeeee”
