WETHERSPOONS has revealed a big menu shake-up will be hitting its pubs within days and it’s perfect for New Year motivation. 

The pub chain will be serving vegan burgers in the New Year for a limited time only.

As part of Veganuary, Spoons fans will be able to sample the new Beyond BBQ stack, which is a plant-based burger. 

Veganuary is a UK non-profit organisation that aims to educate and encourage people to eat Vegan for the month of January and beyond.

The burger comes as part of a meal which includes a Beyond Meat plant-based patty, BBQ sauce, onion rings, iceberg lettuce, tomato, red onion, served in a vegan brioche bun, served with chips.

The burger will be available in all 800 Wetherspoon pubs from Monday, January 1 to Wednesday, January 31.

Prices for the meal will vary but the average price is £7.50 if order it with a soft drink.

These include Pepsi Max, Monster Energy, Sanpellegrino, R. White’s raspberry lemonade, or orange juice.

Punters who want a pint with their meal can get an ale, draft or bottled lager, spirits, wine or craft beers with the burger for £8.97.

Wetherspoon’s marketing executive James Vaughan, said: “We are confident that the burger will prove popular with vegans and those trying a vegan burger for the first time.”

The pub chain is not the only hospitality retailer to offer vegan options. 

KFC offers a vegan Quorn fillet coated in its famous 11 herbs & spices in a sesame bun with lettuce & vegan mayo. 

Mcdonald’s also has a vegan burger made with Beyond Meat it features vegan sandwich sauce, ketchup, mustard, onion, pickles, lettuce, tomato, and a vegan alternative to cheese in a sesame seed bun.

With more and more people adopting a vegan lifestyle each year, the choice and availability of vegan products has never been higher.

Wetherspoons also offers a range of different vegan options all year round for those who adopt a full-time vegan diet. 

You can purchase two Quorn sausages, baked beans, two hash browns, a mushroom, a tomato, a slice of toast, vegan spread for £5.55.

There’s also the Fiesta burger which is a plant-based patty, salsa, guacamole, roasted pepper, courgette, and onion. 

You can order this as a meal with a soft drink for £12.80 or with an alcoholic drink for £15.20.

More ways to save at Wetherspoons

Spoons hold events throughout the year where customers can grab their favourite drinks and meals for less.

The 12-day real ale festival will be back next spring across all of its pubs. 

It usually begins in the final week of March and ends at the beginning of April.

Next September fans also expect to see Wetherspoon’s Tax Equality Day to highlight the benefits of a permanently reduced tax bill for the pub industry.

Customers will be able to enjoy a 7.5% discount at its 827 pubs.

Wetherspoons is known for its meal deal offers that run all week long.

These include Tuesday’s Steak Club, the Thursday Curry Club and Fish Friday.

For example, a standard curry club meal with an alcoholic drink is between £8.55 and £9.19.

Outside of the deal, you would expect to pay around a fiver more for the same meal.

You can enjoy bottomless brews all day in participating Wetherspoons pubs by buying one hot drink.

The offer includes Tetley tea and a range of Lavazza coffee including a flat white, latte, cappuccino, and Americano.

Prices start from just 99p but they can vary depending on your location.
