WETHERSPOONS has the perfect solution for couples on a budget this Valentine’s Day, as its £20 meal deal is back.

If you’re not in the market for a totally wallet-bruising dinner to celebrate the loved-up season, then the pub chain has got you and your special someone covered this year.

The bargain boozer has been running the Valentine’s meal deal since 2018, saving couples plenty of extra pennies with the returning £20 offer.

This year it’s running all weekend long too – so you don’t have to get suited and booted just on the romantic day itself.

Punters will be able to choose from the lovey-dovey menu from February 12 all the way through to February 14, so there’s plenty of opportunity to get date night in over the weekend from Saturday to Monday.

The deal means the two of you can dine for a tenner a-head, and you can each get a main, dessert and a drink from the menu for the all-in price.

The star of the show this year is a gourmet 8oz sirloin steak which would normally cost around £10 on its own at the pub chain.

There’s also a BBQ chicken melt on offer on the special menu, as well as breaded scampi, and for those going meatless, a cauliflower and spinach curry.

When it comes to puds, there’s fudge cake, and brownies on offer, as well as crumble, and cookie dough.

Desserts can go up to about £4 in price normally, so if you’re topping off your steak dinner with a naughty sweet treat you’ll already save at least £8 on the full meal.

That’s without the drink that’s included too – almost all the alcoholic beverages are redeemable in the offer as well as soft and hot drinks, but you can’t do any date night shots, or order cocktails or wine for the table in the £20 deal.

But squeeze another £5 into your budget and you can upgrade your two drinks to a 750ml bottle of prosecco to share, as well.

Keep in mind though, that across the food menu and drinks, prices can vary between locations, and you won’t be able to cash-in on the offer if you’re jet-setting this romantic season as airport pubs aren’t included.

It’s also worth noting that not all ‘Spoons venues will be hosting the offer, though the foodie giant has said most pubs will.

Wetherspoon has 861 pubs across the UK, but it might be worth calling your local boozer ahead of time to check whether you’ll be able to have your date night there.

You can track down your nearest ‘Spoons by using the online pub finder.

But the deal is especially worthwhile if you don’t fancy spoiling the romance of the evening with a tower of washing-up facing you at the end.

Marks and Spencer’s famous Dine-in for two hit shelves at the posh supermarket this week, with camembert and a sirloin steak of its own on offer.

But you won’t have a server bringing your meals to you, as you’ve got to cook the meal deal yourself at home, and tidy all the plates away after.

If you are on the hunt for something even cheaper then Morrisons has released its own £15 dine-in three-course offer too, but saving the extra £5 does, again, mean you’ve got to do the hard graft of cooking and clearing, yourself.

Plus, Aldi has an even cheaper £10-for-two romantic dinner this year, which is 50% cheaper than the Wetherspoons meal out.
