This mattress topper is made to fit a double-size bed so if you have a single or king-size bed you will need to look for a different-size mattress topper.

The mattress topper is already sold out online so you will need to head in-store to see if you can get one of these.

However, it’s worth looking around as you may be able to find a self-heating mattress topper elsewhere for cheaper.

In Argos the same Silentnight self-heating mattress topper is going for £5 less at £45, the single size is £35 and the king size is £55.

Asda also sells the same mattress topper for £10 cheaper. In Asda stores the double is £35, the king size is £40 and the single size is £30.

Remember if you are ordering online you will need to factor in a delivery charge.

Affordable ways to stay warm this winter

There are plenty of other affordable ways you can stay warm this winter.

Get yourself a hot water bottle, you can them in lots of different shapes and sizes.

They are always great for a cost-free way of keeping warm.

If you’ve got a few pennies to spare consider buying an electric blanket.

They are another great way to keep warm and most cost around 2p an hour to run.

Don’t forget about preventative measures, draught-proof your home and seal your windows to stop cold air from coming in.

Prices for draught excludes start from a fiver in most stores but a thick blanket rolled up next to a draughty door will work just as well.

Seal up any draughty windows with easy-to-use draught excluders, prices for them start at £1.99 and they could save up to £70 on your energy bills.

Loft insulation is also very important as it can stop heat escaping, therefore slashing your heating bill.

You can buy insulation from all local builder merchants or retailers such as B&Q and Wickes.
