TWO cousins bagged themselves the entire £1million Postcode Lottery prize thanks to a planning quirk.

Margaret Livens and Joyce Ablitt, both 72, live next door to each other in the small Cheshire village of Little Neston.

The duo built both semi-detached properties with their husbands and grandad 47 years ago.

And being the only homes on the street, their local council gave them their own postcode.

Retired secretary Margaret and husband Harry, 73, won £333,333 each with their tickets.

Widower Joyce also won the same with her Lotto entry.

The group picked up their winnings on Monday at a Postcode Lottery gala in Edinburgh.

Harry said: “I can’t repeat what I thought when I first saw the cheque.

“We’d been stewing all weekend.”

Margaret said: “We built the houses ourselves. It was a real family affair.

“They’re the only ones on the street, so we needed our own postcode. This is just incredible.”

Joyce added how her “legs just gave way” when she was given the cheque and realised how much she had won.

Despite the glorious win, Margaret and Harry said they would give it up to get their dog Chloe back – who went missing a month ago.

The Postcode Lotto is a monthly subscription where you win based on where you live.

Brits pay each month to be entered into the draw and if more than one person in your catchment area wins, you have to split the prize.

It costs £10 per month and could see you scoop up a prize between £1,000 or £3million.

If you’re interested in signing up you can do so here.
