They both won £655,838 on the Euromillions in September 2017.

The lucky couple were left in tears before deciding to donate a portion of their prize to charity.

The cash was used to build a new playhouse for children’s charity The Yard in Dundee – after the previous one was destroyed by a blaze.

Unidentified vandals reportedly caused thousands of pounds worth of damage in January 2023.

Mr Forbes told STV News: “I went inside after the fire and I was in tears, it was horrible.

“But seeing it now, tears of joy. Especially going in there and seeing all the children playing like what it should be used for, it’s lovely.”

The charitable couple have now been able to rebuild a new wildlife themed sensory room.

The children helped to decorate the building by choosing their favourite colours and animals to go on the walls.

The original playhouse was also gifted by National Lottery winners six years ago.

A spokesperson from the charity said the house was a “safe space” for everyone.

Gill Thomson from The Yard said: “Once it wasn’t there, we realised how many families and children benefitted from it.

“Some of the children need a quiet, secluded space but they want to be part of The Yard.

“So, sitting in there where it’s nice, it’s calm, it’s quiet but they’re able to look across the garden and see the other children doing what they want to do, so having it back again is amazing.”

This comes as another woman who won a £6.5 National Lottery jackpot revealed how she spent the cash on an expensive kettle.

Viv Moss, from Newquay, won the National Lottery prize 23 years ago.

Elsewhere, six neighbours who won a life-changing £1m jackpot revealed how they plan to spend their share of the cash.

The locals, in Seaton Burn, near Newcastle, Tyne and Wear, have pocketed £142,857 each after the win.

Another man who almost £10 million on the lottery confessed he spend it all on partying and hookers.

Mickey Carroll, 40, dubbed the “Lotto Lout”, shot to fame two decades ago when he won the jackpot aged just 19 while working as a bin man in 2002.

He burned through his fortune and in 2013 he declared himself bankrupt and was forced to sell his mansion and return to work.
