A COUPLE who won £200k on the People’s Postcode Lottery have said they are going to spend it on Prime drinks for their daughter.

Hundreds of residents in Lancaster were celebrating after their area was selected in the People’s Postcode Lottery on Saturday.

More than 750 people picked up cheques, with eight lucky neighbours in the full winning postcode taking home £200,000 each.

Amie Walling, 37 and her husband James, 40, were among the lucky few and plan to spend some of the windfall house-hunting.

But the couple also promised their eight-year-old daughter Theia a big treat involving the viral energy drink Prime.

Invented by YouTubers KSI and Logan Paul, it was released in June last year with shoppers flocking to supermarkets in order to try and get their hands on it.

James said: “I told Theia if we won £1,000 we could get all the Prime flavours – we’ll need to go on the hunt now!

“We’re going to go on a Prime treasure hunt and see how many different kinds we can pick up.

“It is just pop at the end of the day so we won’t be forking out hundreds like some people do.

“But we will definitely be treating her.”

Prime is marketed as a sport drink, to “help you refresh, replenish, and refuel”, it contains B vitaminselectrolytes and coconut water.

Premier League club Arsenal even announced a partnership with the brand, making the drinks available for fans at their Emirates Stadium on match days.

Theia said: “I have only tried one flavour so far, Tropical Punch.

“It’s delicious. I can’t wait to taste them all. I am so happy we won.”

Amie, a teaching assistant at a special needs and disabilities school, said: “We’re cramped in this two-bedroom house with our two girls.

“Now we can move somewhere that’s big enough for us all.

Amie added: “We had a ten year plan. Now we have a next week plan.”

And she said that the win would have a big impact on the community: “Times have been hard for everyone recently so for a street like this to win, you’ve no idea what that means.”

The lucky family are just one of 752 to share £3.2million in Lancaster, Lancashire.

Gobsmacked locals knew they had won a minimum of £1K but had no idea how much they had scooped.

Great-grandmother Isobel, 65, who is an admin assistant at the University of Cumbria, was gobsmacked after winning the bumper prize.

She said: “This is going to be life changing. My husband, Norman, was diagnosed with dementia four years ago and I just try to handle it the best I can.

“I just get by day-to-day so this is going to help us so much. I didn’t expect it to be this amount of money. I just can’t register it.”

Isobel has lived in the area since she was seven years old and is a grandmother of eight, and a great grandmother or two.

She said: “I want to treat the people who have helped me get through in life.

“And I’ll go and get my hair and my nails done. That’ll be my treat to myself.”

Neighbour Ria Plawecki, 31, plans to learn how to drive after scooping the £200K jackpot.

The human resources assistant and husband Ross, will also be splashing out on a “posh kennel” for their two dogs.

Mum-of-two Ria, who works at a nearby doctors’ surgery, said: “I never win anything, not even a pound on a scratch card – I keep expecting someone to tell me it’s all a joke.

“I can’t drive, so the first thing I’m going to do is get some driving lessons and a shiny new car.

“I’m sure the children will have a long list and there’s definitely going to be some holidays too – maybe to Disney World.”

“We’ll be treating the dogs as well.”

Neighbour Sara McGonnell, a 56-year-old receptionist, will be buying a headstone for her mother’s grave after bagging the top prize.

Sara said: “My mum died in 1988 aged just 52. We’ve never been able to go out and get her a headstone.

“We’ve been waiting such a long time to be able to do this and it means so much to us.”

Mum Sara added: “I will also be using the money to pay off a holiday I have booked to Florida. It’s a life changing amount of money.”
