However, David almost missed on the eye-watering windfall after refusing to believe they had won.

He didn’t know his life was about to change forever when he received a call at work from his wife.

Charlotte claimed they had just become millionaires after hitting the jackpot.

Having fallen for the same trick before, the self-employed carpenter thought it was another prank.

Ms Peart was so sceptical he passed the phone onto his brother.

“I didn’t believe her at all because we like to wind each other up,” he said.

However, luck had actually hit the couple this time – with a whopping £1million on the Euromillions HotPicks draw.

Charlotte said: “He didn’t believe me. Actually, he said ‘I can’t talk to you right now love’ and ended up putting his brother on the phone.

“It was definitely crazy and not a normal day.”

Daniel was then left stunned when his wife sent him a screenshot with the winning message.

The mum-of-three became an instant millionaire after winning the prize using the last £1.50 in her online lottery account to enter the draw.

She initially dismissed the National Lottery email thinking she had only won £3.

But the admin worker was left in shock after ringing the lotto call centre – who confirmed she had won way more.

On the call Charlotte couldn’t hold her uncontrollable giggles and said: “I’m a bit giddy sorry, I think I’m going to cry.”

Speaking to Camelot about the life-changing phone call five years ago, Charlotte said: “I can still vividly remember that moment, I just couldn’t stop giggling.

“Obviously it was the nerves but I think it was coupled with shocked disbelief, only two weeks earlier I had wound my husband up that we’d won £250,000 so to suddenly be calling The National Lottery to officially claim £1M was just crazy.

“It’s great to hear my call again, it takes me right back to the beginning of our amazing winning adventure.”

The lucky woman said she has now splashed the cash on a larger house to fit all the family members – including their two Labrador pups.

It comes as a lucky bloke who won a staggering £120,000 on the Lottery revealed he has a two-step plan for spending it.

Sam Lawton, 23, scooped the huge cash prize after playing for the first time.

Meanwhile, neighbours who landed a whopping £392,000 in People’s Postcode Lottery were left “gutted” by how they found out.

Judy Eastwood and Scott Wood are among 1,400 who are sharing an £11.2million prize pot in Deal, Kent.

The Kent couple say the win couldn’t have come at a better time as their list of house repairs continues to grow.
