LOCALS living in the most affordable area in the country have named the best bit about where they live – and it’s not the house prices.
The residents say there’s a lot going for their town – there’s “lovely” parks, it’s only a short drive to the countryside, and the football club is a massive part of the community.

But according to those who call Burnley home, the best part of the town is the people.
Last week the Lancashire town was named the most affordable place to buy a home in the UK – topping the list with the average house price of £117,000.
But locals say there’s so much more to the area than that.
Alex Gutman, 26, said one of the highlights is the community.
She told The Sun: “My friends always ask me what I like about the town and I tell them it’s the people.
“They are proud of the town and proud to be from Burnley.”
Alex added: “I’m originally from London and I love the fact that Burnley is a small town with a lot of history.
“It has the perfect blend of town and countryside.”

Anthony Tibbs agreed.
The 36-year-old, who owns the Steem Training Club, said: “We are not too far away from green spaces; the countryside and brilliants parks, if you like the outdoors.”
Anthony added: “The people are great too and the town may have a bad reputation of being a working-class northern town, but there is a great sense of community.
“No one looks down on anyone else and are willing to help.”
Even business owners like Kimberley Thompson feel the sense of community.
The 41-year-old said: “I have been running my business from Burnley for 15 years now. There is a lot of support out there for businesses, which is a great help.
“The people in Burnley are very supportive and are willing to help each other to be successful.
“People really do pull together.”

Barrie Thompson, 45, mirrored the others’ comments, adding: “Burnley has a lot going for it and people are willing to help each other.
“We have the countryside nearby, great parks, restaurants and leisure facilities.”
He added: “There is a good feel around Burnley at the moment with the football club just being promoted back to the Premier League.
“The football club is a big part of the community, brings everyone together and supports the town.”
Olivia Stevenson also thought the team was making its mark on the feel of the town, too.
The 21-year-old said: “The football team is doing really well and has just been promoted, which will be good for the town.
“The housing is affordable and there is plenty of activities to do.
“The parks around the town are lovely and there is something for everyone.
“It’s a good place to live.”
