Warner Music Group Corp. Chief Executive Steve Cooper will exit the company next year, the music company’s longest-running CEO told employees in an email.

His 11 years at the helm of the world’s third-largest music company by sales came during a tumultuous and then vibrant time for Warner Music and the industry. Mr. Cooper inherited a company in decline and then steered its turnaround by embracing streaming, which led to the company doubling its revenue and taking market share from larger competitors.
