VIRGIN Media broadband customers are reporting widespread outages across the country this morning.

Virgin, BT and Alexa users have rushed to social media to rage at the outage, with some claiming their internet has been inaccessible since 1am.

According to reports, the outage has hit most major cities, including London and Birmingham.

One Twitter user wrote: “Good job they increased everyone’s prices to prevent this sort of thing, eh”.

While another added: “Shock horror @virginmedia whole network down, phone lines down and yet no updates by the company for the major outages”.

    Virgin Media has responded to reports of widespread broadband outages across the country.

    The company tweeted: “We’re aware of an issue that is affecting broadband services for Virgin Media customers as well as our contact centres.

    “Our teams are currently working to identify and fix the problem as quickly as possible and we apologise to those customers affected.”
