USERS of Apple’s new Live Text feature have been demonstrating how worryingly easy it is to use for cheating in class.

A viral video in what appears to be a lecture hall shows how you can easily take a photo of someone’s laptop screen and then copy and paste their work.

The video shows how scarily easy it is to copy someone's work with the feature

You can also use the feature on foreign language text as it can be easily translated.

The Live Text feature works on images already on your iPhone or you can take one directly on your Camera app.

Just point the camera at a sign, menu, poster or anything else containing text or numbers and take a picture.

You can also select an online image.

Then, touch and hold a word and move the grab points to cover the section of text you want to copy.

Then tap “Copy” and “Select All” if you want all the text.

You can then paste the information into your Notes app or anywhere you want to save it.

Only people who have iOS 15 or newer can access the feature.

It’s very useful but some people aren’t using it for good.

A viral TikTok video shows how a student uses the feature to copy notes from his classmates screen.

The student is sat behind his classmate and can easily take a picture of their laptop screen before using the Live Text feature to copy their notes.

The video has caused debate on Twitter with some people calling it “genius” and “incredible”.

However, lots of people don’t approve of using the feature in this way.

One unimpressed person tweeted: “People must pay attention to the class in order absorb what is being teached and create notes.

“Although, when you just take a picture and use the iPhone to copy notes you’re not internalizing anything, you’re just moving your fingers.”

Others have pointed out that you’d be much better off asking to borrow someone’s notes then stealing them without permission.
