That appears to be a risk Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, is ready to take, having failed to persuade Gen Valerii Zaluzhnyi to resign as commander in chief of the Ukrainian armed forces. Rumours of the general’s imminent dismissal continued to circulate in Kyiv on Wednesday.
