Man identified by German court as Troy B attacked two American women near tourist attraction in June

A German court has sentenced an American man to life in prison for the rape and murder of a tourist and the attempted murder of her friend in an attack near a famous tourist destination.

The incident in June attracted worldwide attention because of the presence of so many visitors at Neuschwanstein Castle, some of whom photographed and streamed the scene as the women were taken by helicopter to hospital.
