The security tips come from the experts at Keeper Security.

First on the list is being very careful about what you post on social media.

The experts explain: “If you decide to post, try not to mention the exact location where you are, especially if you’re currently at that location when making the post.”

Revealing your location can make you an easy target for criminals.

It’s also worth not revealing when you’ll be away from your home.

If criminals know your house is empty, they may target it.

The next tip on the list is avoiding public Wi-Fi.

Cybercriminals have been known to set up fake Wi-Fi hotspots in public spaces with names similar to that of an official network.

You may spot this in an airport, cafe, or another spot where there is legitimate public Wi-Fi that can be taken advantage of.

Accessing a dangerous Wi-Fi network can put your personal details in the hands of criminals.

If you do have to use public Wi-Fi, avoid doing things like accessing your banking apps or social media.

The third tip on the list keeping your devices in a secure space.

Be wary of pickpockets, especially when traveling abroad.

Keeper Security recommends using the safety deposit box in your hotel room.

Finally, the experts advise being cautious of ATMs.

They stress that credit card skimming is common and can result in your bank being drained.

The experts state: “While you’re traveling, be cautious of which ATMs you use and look closely at the card reader before choosing to insert your card.”
