ONE of the UK’s most popular budget supermarkets is slashing its prices on household favourites. 

Aldi’s latest price drop on household staples will include cereal, fruit and snacks.

A nature’s pack of seven midi bananas is now 88p down from 92p while Four Seasons Blueberries are now 10p cheaper at £2.19 instead of £2.29. 

Snack fans will be pleased to learn that Specially Selected Belgian Chocolate Cookies are no longer £1.49 but almost 25p cheaper at £1.25.

The discount supermarket has recently announced a price drop of more than 150 items, one of its biggest round of price cuts.

In September, 55 items in the fruit and veg aisle were reduced.

The latest price drop has seen 17 items fall by an average of around 7%.

Julie Ashfield, managing director of buying at Aldi UK, said: “We are committed to offering unbeatable value, and continue to work hard to bring our prices down even further.

“This latest price drop is part of our continued efforts to make great quality food accessible to all, from fruit and veg to treats for all the family, as we welcome more and more customers into our stores that are looking to save money on their grocery shop.”

Aldi is continuously ranked the cheapest supermarket by consumer champion Which?.

It was top of the monthly ranking in September, August and July.

It was also named the cheapest supermarket of the year in 2021 and 2022.

However, the supermarket has come up against stiff competition from popular stores. 

Last month Morrisons announced plans to cut prices of over 170 items to help customers cope with the rising cost of living

Asda hasslashed the prices of a whopping 425 items including branded and own-label products. 

Even M&S are locking the prices of 140 popular food favourites keeping them low until after Christmas.

  • Dominion Flix ‘N’ Mix: was £2.19, now £1.99
  • Specially Selected Muesli: was £2.45, now £2.29
  • Harvest Morn Cinnamon Chips: was £2.39, now £2.29
  • Harvest Morn Wheat Bisks: was £2.39, now £2.29
  • Four Seasons Waffle Fries: was £1.79, now £1.69
