Liz Truss says move is aimed at exposing ‘shady network propping up Putin’s luxury lifestyle’
Britain has said its latest round of sanctions target Vladimir Putin’s financial network, including the Russian’s president’s long-rumoured girlfriend, Alina Kabaeva, his ex-wife, Lyudmila Ocheretnaya, and cousins.
“We are exposing and targeting the shady network propping up Putin’s luxury lifestyle and tightening the vice on his inner circle,” the foreign secretary, Liz Truss, said in a statement on Friday.
