Billion mark: Unipart provides logistics and supply chain services across 27 countries
British logistics firm Unipart saw sales top £1billion for the first time last year.
Unipart was created in 1974 as the spare parts arm of British Leyland, which was once the UK’s biggest car manufacturer.
It split from the group when executive chairman John Neill staged a management buyout of the business in 1987.
Unipart now provides logistics and supply chain services across 27 countries. Airbus, Volkswagen, Vodafone, Three and the NHS are among the Oxford-based company’s clients.
The firm is majority owned by its 12,000 workers, making it one of the UK’s largest employee-owned firms.
It said yesterday that revenue soared 14.2 per cent to £1.05billion last year, up from £917.3million a year earlier.
Earnings hit £21.7million in 2023, compared with £12.2million in 2022.
