A TWO bedroom home has gone on the market for £250,000 – but there is something very odd in the living room that has set tongues wagging.

The obscure object in the terraced property in Tollesbury, near Maldon, Essex, has bemused potential buyers.

At first glance, the vibrant pad appears to be fairly ordinary, albeit with its own fancy flair.

The charming two bed on Rightmove has a cosy cottage feel to it and boasts ornamental fireplaces and low ceilings.

House hunters were attracted by the colourful decor in the property, with quirky ornaments and a flamingo-themed dining room.

The contrasting features manage to expand the open plan living area, which leads onto a lobby.

The hallway takes you into a whimsical courtyard garden, which looks like the perfect place to relax in the sunshine.

With the loft converted into one bedroom, a generous master, office space and convenient kitchen, the home looks ideal for pairs.

But eagle-eyed buyers refused to be distracted by the flamboyant furnishings and spotted something quite strange.

On one of the sofas in the living room, there seems to be something – or someone – lurking under a yellow blanket.

The bizarre hidden form sparked speculation there was something sinister skulking under the throw, thanks to some large bumps protruding through it.

But others managed to see the funny side of the poorly concealed object seemingly cosied up on the couch.

One person said: “Rightmove, is someone having a kip on that sofa?”

A second joked: “Or it’s a body.”

While a third chimed in: “My sister would literally ask. Is it haunted?”

But one house hunter offered a more sensible suggestion, saying: “Pile of ironing or something else to keep out of sight.”

The listing for the Essex pad reads: “Front of property off street parking for one vehicle, with the remainder of the front garden with shrubs, flowers and trees.

“Paved rear garden with timber fencing and raised planting areas to boundaries.”
