TOY prices will soar this Christmas, parents are being warned.
Barbie dolls are likely to cost an extra £10 while Transformers could jump by as much as 30 per cent.
The rises — also hitting My Little Pony and Nerf guns — are blamed on problems getting products from China where 80 per cent are made.
A shortage of containers means it costs £14,480 to hire a 40ft one compared with £3,000 in 2019.
Ynon Kriez, boss of Barbie, Hot Wheels and Fisher-Price maker Mattel, warned: “We’ll be looking at increasing prices.”
Rival Hasbro, which makes Transformers, My Little Pony and Nerf, confirmed it was also raising prices.
Expert Peter Jenkinson predicts a Barbie Extra will cost £39.99 instead of £29.99 and a Scalextric Batman vs Joker £59.99, up from £49.99.
The Matchbox Maverick Top Gun Aircraft Carrier will leap £16.95 to more than £40.
