A LONDON cafe has been spotted selling two oatcakes for a whopping £12.50.
A tourist from Stoke-on-Trent – where the fried good is from – was outraged when they visited the Mouse Tail Coffee in London’s docklands and spotted it on the menu.

They posted a picture of the menu on social media and have since caused uproar among locals, who have branded it as “sacrilege”.
The oatcake is a local speciality in the North Staffordshire area, made fromoatmeal, flour and yeaast to make a dense pancake.
They are typically served with fillings such as cheese, bacon, sausage and egg.
Traditionalists will frown upon sweet fillings such as golden syrup or jam – let alone what this cafe had to offer.
The savoury option will set you back £12.50 and is filled with a ‘spicy lamb merguez sausage, radicchio & rocket salad, a strawberry and chilli salsa, fresh estate dairy yogurt, toasted sesames and a poached cacklebean egg’.
The sweet option is slightly cheaper at £8.70 and is filled with ‘smooth peanut butter, homemade caramel sauce, double chocolate sorbet from Hackney Gelato and honey puffed rice from Husk & Honey’.
Sharing a photo of the menu on the community Facebook group Stoke-on-Trent Past and Present, the post said: “No! This is not how you eat an oatcake!
“Photo taken at the mouse tail coffee shop in Docklands, London.”
Others were quick to express their disapproval at the price and the content.
One said: “Pretentious beyond belief. Cheese, cheese and bacon, cheese and sausage (brown sauce for me but red if you have to) but they are the only acceptable combinations, end of!”
Another agreed: “Sacrilege! No bacon, sausage or cheese.”
One resident described them as “oatcakes with a hipster twist”.
She added: “These should immediately be removed due to crimes against the noble oatcake.”
One Stokie said he can get “six oatcakes for a quid”.
He said: “I can get 6 for a quid and £1.50 for half a dozen cacklebean eggs. Think I’ll start up a business.”
They’re not the only one to express their outrage at London prices.
One Yorkshire dad was left “needing therapy” after forking out £54 for four portions of fish and chips at a London restaurant.
