TIKTOK is being sued by a former employee who claims to be traumatised by having to view a large amount of explicit videos on the app.
Candie Frazier worked as a TikTok video moderator and says she has suffered “significant psychological trauma” because of that job.

Frazier claims to have witnessed appalling content on TikTok including child sexual abuse, rape, graphic porn, murder and more.
According to Sex Tech Guide, her lawsuit states: “Every day, TikTok users upload millions of videos to its platform.
“Millions of these uploads include graphic and objectionable content such as child sexual abuse, rape, torture, bestiality, beheadings, suicide, and murder.”
This kind of content is prohibited on TikTok so people are hired by the company Telus International to work on behalf of the app and moderate content.
Frazier claims she had to work 12 hour shifts and sometimes watched up to 10 disturbing videos simultaneously.
She was allowed an hour for lunch and 15-minute breaks but claims she would be punished if she spent too much time away from watching the graphic content.

The lawsuit states that ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, “heavily punishes any time taken away from watching graphic videos.”
The document claims: “Plaintiff Frazier views videos of the genocide in Myanmar, mass shootings, children being raped, and animals being mutilated.”
The woman, who lives in Las Vegas, said she saw a smashed open skull with people eating from it.
She also claims to have seen a beheading video that was uploaded to TikTok as well as other horrifying clips of suicide and dead children.
The amount Frazier is suing for has not been specified.
The lawsuit states: “Without this Court’s intervention, ByteDance and TikTok will continue to injure Content Moderators and breach the duties they owe to Content Moderators who review content on their platform.”
