But are you getting the best value when you eat there?

If you’re a regular and are after some extra ways to save money, look no further.

We reveal the three items to make sure you get your hands on, and the two to avoid.

What to buy at Nando’s

Sharing platters

It might seem unlikely, but buying combined meals if you’re in a group is one way to slash costs.

Research by moneysavingexpert.com found you can save up to £10 opting for platters rather than individual meals.

For example, if you’re ordering two whole chickens and five large sides, it’ll cost you £60.05 if you’re buying the items separately.

But if you go for the “Family Platter” instead, you’ll pay £49.95 – £10.10 less.

Meanwhile, 10 chicken wings and four regular sides bought individually cost £25.95 while the “Wing Platter” is £21.95 – £4 cheaper.

Mayo

Nando’s Perinaise sauce costs £1.15 a pot, but is actually just a mix of mayonnaise and Peri Peri sauce.

So you might as well make your own and save yourself some cash.

Go to the counter and ask for a free portion of mayo, then stir in your Peri Peri sauce of choice from the condiments bar.

Anything over £7

The Nando’s loyalty card is a great way to earn yourself a free meal from the chain.

You just have to create an account on your phone, then tap it each time you order food.

You earn “Chillies” for every purchase over a certain amount which you build up and can then use later on for freebies.

You will only get a Chilli when you spend £7 or over so you’ll want to make sure you breach the threshold.

What not to buy at Nando’s

Unlimited refills

Unlimited refills are a great way to get more bang for your buck.

You pay once and can keep going up to the refilling station for a drink of your choice.

That said, Nando’s recently upped the price you pay for the option by 10p, so bear that in mind next time you’re at your local restaurant.

Olives
