HD photo and video upgrade
WhatsApp has long scaled down any photos or videos you send.
This is so they’re quicker to send and don’t take up as much space.

But the lower resolution means you aren’t sending the true full quality which you may appreciate for precious memories.
Fortunately, this year WhatsApp added a brand new button so you can boost the quality of photos and videos to HD.
To use it, next time you send content to friends or family, look for a HD button along the top.
Select HD quality from the list and send as you normally would.

Hidden chats no one can see – not even you
WhatsApp took locked chats to the next level in 2023.
Now you can hide the fact you even have a locked chat, so prying eyes have no reason to go snooping.
It’s all thanks to a secret code.
Create a secret code and only by entering it in the search bar will your locked chats magically appear.
To switch it on, head to your Locked Chats folder and select Settings.
Tap on Secret Code, followed by Create Secret Code.
Enter your desired code then hit Next.
Confirm your code and tap Done.
Screen sharing
Next time you need to show a family member how to do something don’t bother explaining on the phone.
WhatsApp’s screen sharing feature allows you to show everything you can see.
