MOST of us dread the prospect of putting together flat-pack furniture.
But if you happen to be a dab hand at building anything, from beds and wardrobes to drawers and tables, you could turn your skill into a money-spinner.

Here’s how . . .
DUNELM: The store’s recent collaboration with local services site Airtasker lets customers find people to assemble furniture.
Building a large, bulky wardrobe would typically pay around £125, while a smaller item such as a TV unit could be £35, according to Dunelm.
Generally, helping with furniture can pay around £75 to £199. You can decide when and where you work and it could be your sole income or a nice little earner on the side.
Obviously, you’ll need tools such as drills, screwdrivers and hammers.

IKEA: The Swedish firm has partnered with Taskrabbit, another local services site that links customers with people who can help put together orders from the furniture superstore.
Earnings depend on area and demand. But expect to get around £23 an hour for assembling items — though this can rise to as much as £28 an hour in London, according to the site.

However, you can set your own rates and invoice directly through the site and be paid directly into your bank account. You’ll also need to agree to an ID check.
ADVERTISE: You don’t have to rely on big-name link-ups to get paid for putting up furniture. You can advertise your services through sites such as Facebook Marketplace and Gumtree.
If you earn £1,000 or less a year from a side hustle such as putting together furniture, you don’t have to pay any tax.
But anyone earning more than this must report their income through a tax return.
