The desire to check on your baby at night is natural, and baby monitors allow parents to do so without having to tiptoe into the nursery and risk waking their infant. But what about watching an 8-year-old sleep? Or listening in on a teenager?

While many parents say that’s a violation of the child’s privacy, there is another camp of those who admit that they still monitor their kids’ bedrooms way beyond infancy and toddlerhood.
