If you were a boy racer in the eighties, this is an auction lot that’s going to get your pulse racing.

Currently available for sale from one UK-based owner’s garage is this remarkable selection of the finest Fast Fords spanning the 1980s, which includes everything from the decade spanning from the most-desirable Capri to a bank-busting Sierra.

There are 10 Fords in total along with four other in-demand modern classics as part of the Fast Fords & Friends Collection. All 14 cars are being sold in a week-long online auction that ends on Sunday.

With the huge rise in value of once-modest performance Fords, the auction is set to raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for the owner.

Every car from the one-owner collection is being offered to the highest bidder without reserve by Collecting Cars – the British-based online-only motor auction specialist.

It’s one of the finest UK collections of 1980s Fast Fords, which is considered the golden era for the blue oval brand.

The auction house says the owner behind the sale has spent years assembling the outstanding collection of Fast Fords, with a particular focus on the lightweight and analogue 1980s models that have recently become hot property on the classic car scene.

This was highlighted in February by the sale of a 1987 Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500 with just 5,000 miles on the clock, which was bought for a staggering £596,250 – not only obliterating the previous record price by almost half a million pounds (£463,500) but also 30 times its original price some 36 years ago.

The keeper of this collection is said to have spent hours intensely researching the cars before seeking out the ‘very best of breed’ of Fast Fords from the generation.

Collecting Cars said he ‘paid particular attention to those cars with award-winning provenance on the concours circuit’, adding that ‘a number of these performance heroes come with an impressive haul of trophies’.

Almost every one of the motors in the single collection have incredibly low mileage for their age and are offered in remarkably original condition, with only a few having aftermarket modifications.

Among the highlights are a 46,000-mile 1988 Ford Capri 280 Brooklands, one of just 1,038 built and fresh from a recommissioning service.

Classic car valuations specialists, Hagerty UK, say the top value of one of these cars is £41,500, and at the time of publishing – with six days of the online auction remaining – the top bid is already at £21,259.

Another hugely desirable model in the line-up is a 54,000-mile 1983 Ford Escort RS1600i - a rare homologation special in original condition - that already has a top bid of £22,500

A 53,000-mile 1985 Ford Escort RS Turbo, widely regarded as one of the best in the UK with myriad trophies to its name, that’s already up to £35,000 in the live auction at the time of publishing.

While this car will undoubtedly sell for a whopping price, it won’t match the all-time record achieved last August when a Series 1 RS Turbo owned and driven by Princess Diana made an astounding £650,000 at auction

And, in the wake of the near-£600,000 sale of the Sierra RS Cosworth RS500 earlier this year, a 1986 non-RS500 variant – which has recently been meticulously restored – is at £37,250 and destined to go much higher, with Hagerty listing the top value of one of these motors at a whopping £102,000.

This 1986 Sierra Cosworth - which has recently been restored - is already at £37,250 in the online auction at the time of publishing on Monday. However, it is destined to go much higher, with valuation specialists saying it's worth over £100k
