While Glastonbury has come and gone, festival season has only just begun with countless major events around the corner.

Creamfields, Boardmasters and Leeds are among these, with thousands of music lovers expected to rock up in the coming months.

If you’ve got a festival in your calendar, you may be surprised to learn that your festival experience could be taken up a notch with the power of technology.

Whether it’s finding your tent or needing first aid, tech experts have got you covered, with numerous features that are downloadable to your phone.

So, get ready, as MailOnline reveals the five apps that will boost your summer of festivals.

1. Snapchat

With thousands flocking to festivals every year, it’s no surprise that many people get lost.

But Snapchat has your back with a tool that uses augmented reality (AR) to help find your friends.

This feature is only available to Snapchatters who opt in to having their location shared on the messaging app.

When enabled, you can simply select a friend within the locator maps menu and follow an on-screen arrow until you spot them.

Snapchat also offers a 3D mapped compass using the power of AR which allows users to navigate several popular festivals more easily.

Up-to-date set times and GPS-powered wayfinding are among the options available, allowing Snapchatters to find food and even different stages.

These options are available at 16 of the biggest international festivals of 2023 including Creamfields, Reading and Leeds.

Others also include the Electric Daisy Festival in Las Vegas and Lollapalooza in Paris.

Wireless, which took place in London earlier this month, made use of the features too.

2. Find my tent

But friends aren’t the only things that can go missing at festivals.

Locating your tent in a sea of khaki-coloured pitches can also be quite a challenge – especially if you’ve had one too many.

‘Find my tent’ can help with this, simply using GPS to mark the spot of your tent, so you can later trace back to it.

The iPhone app explains: ‘Find my tent is ideal for camping trips and music festivals. It’s an easy to use app designed to help you locate your pitched tent.

‘All you need to do is “save” the location of your tent when you pitch it. Go exploring and when you’re ready to return to your tent sometime later simply click “find”.’

Users can only log one location at a time when using this app.

While its free version requires phone service to function properly, premium payers can use it in remote locations too.

3. Virtual first aid

Whether it’s tripping in the mud or drinking a bit too much booze, accidents aren’t a rarity at festivals.

But the British Red Cross may just have the solution to that.

The iPhone first aid kit provides life-saving knowledge and medical techniques that are easy for anyone to learn on the go.

Users can scroll through a long list of advice pages which often come with detailed videos explaining what actions to take.

Dealing with extreme heat and burns are also covered here which may come in handy amid the scorching summer temperatures in Europe

If you’re feeling extra safety cautious, you can even prep beforehand using the app’s quiz-style tests.

4. Water Reminder

Water is perhaps not the beverage that first comes to mind when you think of festivals.

But it’s still important to take a good few glugs to keep your health in good shape and the hangovers at bay.

Water Reminder is the perfect app to help with this, allowing users to not only track their water intake but read up on daily nutritional information.

Alerts to drink water can also be sent to your iPhone and Apple Watch at any time – whether it’s the moment you wake up or the second you step out on the dance floor.

‘Water Reminder by VGFIT will help you to calculate how much water your body needs, will track your hydration and gently remind you to drink water to fulfill your goal,’ it says.

‘The app requests access to the following data types: Water, Caffeine, Protein, Dietary Energy, Fat, Carbs and Sugars.’

5. Woov

It can often feel overwhelming to plan your festival experience with numerous artists performing on different stages at one given time.

Woov can make this a little easier, as its app offers the ability to create a personal festival timetable.

Not only can users browse through specific events and select their favourite acts, but they can also connect with other people who like the same music.

This could save you from braving the crowds alone if none of your tag team like the same performer as you do.

Currently, the platform only supports a select handful of festivals which can be found using their in-app search bar.
