A BLAIR Witch-style video game has gone viral for its simple but unique challenge – don’t scream.
Literally.
The indie game challenges players to walk through an eerie forest.
You must have your PC microphone on so that any whimper, shriek or yelp is picked up.
If you’re caught making a noise, you’ll have to start over.
The aptly-titled Don’t Scream gives you 18 minutes to make it out of the horrific environment.

And if you think standing in the same spot will spare you of a scare, think again.
The time only counts down when you move, so there’s no escaping the horrors that await.
Each time the scares are different so you never know what to expect.
And to make it even more spine-tingling, the entire game has a ’90s camcorder style effect, much like cult classic movie The Blair Witch Project.

The game was created by independent duo Joure and Joe.
“It’s the perfect game to scare the pants off your friends and family,” they explained.
“A mere squeak or quiet gasp should be flagged as a scream, causing you to restart.”
Don’t Scream is due for release on October 27, just in time for Halloween.
