AS the weather warms up, it is a great time to attract wildlife into any outdoor space you might have.
Whether that’s a garden, balcony or windowsill, there are small changes you can make to help creatures thrive.

Follow these tips to have the bees and birds popping by . . .
FEED THE BIRDS: You can get a self-assembly bird table for £14.99 at The Range.
Pets At Home has a window wild bird feeder for £10.99. Homebase is doing a three-for-two offer on bird feed, including Wild Appetite suet energy fat balls (50-pack), £6.95, and Peckish natural balance seed mix (12.75kg), £17.95.
Rather than buy a bird bath, an upturned terracotta plant pot, with a saucer on top filled with water, is a cheap alternative.
PLANT THE SEED: Attract bees to your garden with wildflowers. Robert Dyas sells Mr Fothergill’s wildflower cornfield seeds for £3.60.
While you’re there, check out the pre-grown buddleia in a 2-litre pot, £14.99. This is a sure-fire way to bring in the butterflies.
THE BEES’ KNEES: Welcome in ladybirds and lacewings with the Nature’s Feast garden insect house, reduced from £25.99 to £12.99 at Robert Dyas.
Or fashion your own “bee hotel” by cutting both ends off a large plastic bottle and filling it with bamboo canes. Thread twine through to hang it securely.

HANGING OUT: For small spaces, pick up terracotta pots, hanging baskets and a trellis, and opt for a selection of wildlife-friendly plants, such as marjoram, thyme, trailing nasturtiums and dahlias.
Use logs or stones to create areas of interest.
