Ruth Sunderland, the Group Business Editor of the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday, has been named Business Journalist of the Year.
She was handed the prestigious award by the London Press Club at a ceremony at Stationers’ Hall in the heart of the Square Mile.
Praising her campaigning and ‘lucid’ commentary, the judges said: ‘Ruth Sunderland continues to deliver her hard hitting pieces about the biggest business, investment and economics stories of the day.’
Recent successes include the Save LV campaign to stop the historic mutual insurer being sold to private equity. The proposed sale to Bain Capital for £530m was eventually voted down by LV members following months of campaigning by this newspaper.
