CHEAP pints may seem like a thing of the past as the cost of a beer has soared recently.
Wetherspoons customers were left fuming after it emerged they were being charged as much as £6.29 a pint in some places – more than double other areas.

And this month it was revealed a pint now costs more than £4 on average for the first time.
But a new analysis by comparison site Finder, shared exclusively with The Sun, shows that there are some cities where the average price of a pint costs far less.
They found the top twenty cheapest cities for buying a pint.
Derby and Inverness came top of the list – where a beer at the pub will cost you just £3.00 on average.
Next cheapest was Kingston upon Hull – where a pint cost £3.32.
And after that was Perth in Scotland with an average price of £3.46 for a pint.
Finder used crowd-sourced consumer price database Numbeo and cost of living calculator Expatistan to work out the average price for a pint of each city.
They did a similar comparison in 2021.

In that year the cheapest the cheapest city for a pint was Perth in Scotland, at £3.07.
Next were Swansea at £3.26 and Peterborough at £3.28.
Beer fans will be relieved to hear there are still places where you can get a pint without breaking the bank.
A recent YouGov survey for the Campaign for Real Ale found 52% of drinkers think £4 is too much to pay.
There are fears they will shun bars and hasten the decline of British pubs.
This might happen sooner than later if the price of Wetherspoons pubs in London are anything to go by.
A pint of Stella Artois at a Leicester Square Wetherspoons cost a whopping £6.29. And pubs at Victoria and High Holborn in London weren’t much better. Coming in at £5.29 and £5.10 respectively.
Tim Martin, boss of discount pub chain Wetherspoons, previously called on the Government to tackle tax differences between supermarket and pub alcohol.
And Camra boss Nik Antona recently said: “Businesses that have survived the pandemic are now being threatened again by inflation and spiralling energy costs — just as consumers are dealing with the cost of living crisis and reigning in spending.”
Luckily, some pubs around the country are still able to keep prices down.
