I’ve eaten, baked and developed many brownie recipes over the last five years. I’ve made “healthy-ish” brownies with avocado sneaked in. I’ve made caramel-topped brownies, brownies with tahini swirls, even the slightly controversial “cake-like” brownies. (Is it even a brownie, or is it just chocolate cake?)

Each time I bake brownies, I learn something new. I call my ultimate recipe the Chocolatiest Brownies, and it merits the name. It incorporates everything I’ve learned from many, many batches. Here, my top takeaways.
