Just like last year, we’ve watched a small number of retailers battle it out in a price-matching war, and the current figure settled up is £185 – that’s a 23% reduction.
Also on sale at the 2nd-generation Airpods, which have been reduced from £119 to £99 at the same three retailers.
This comes as no surprise, as the third-generation Airpods were launched back in October (they’re on sale for £169 at Amazon).
The trade-off between the two sets of earbuds – and the £86 price difference – is the ANC (noise-cancellation) tech that the Pro offers.
This reduces background noise to a minimum while you’re using them, and is a major part of their widespread appeal.
This is probably now the set price on the Airpods Pro – last year, we saw a number of stores hit a pricing stalemate and that will probably happen again in 2021.
It’s not impossible, however, the Amazon will undercut its rivals by a cheeky £1 or thereabouts.
So you may want to hang on to see what happens – but with ongoing stock problems particular affecting tech products, don’t hang about.
After all, there’s nothing worse on Black Friday than finding your favourite deal is out of stock.
