Jordon Cox, also known as the “Coupon King”, has been using money savings apps and websites for years, and teaches people how to save money.

Now he’s spilling his secrets on the best apps to put more money into your pocket:

1. TopCashback – £300 in average savings a year

Before buying anything online, you should go to TopCashback first.

It’s a cashback website that pays you a percentage of what you spend, so long as you click through its website first.

As an example, if you wanted a hotel from Expedia, if you click through TopCashback to Expedia’s website and booked as normal, you’d get 10% of what you spent into your TopCashback account.

It can add up to a lot of money, and includes everything from clothes, to insurance, to broadband and even signing up for a free credit check!

2. Airtime Rewards – £120 in average savings a year

Airtime Rewards is one of the easiest ways to save money, because once everything is set up – you earn money passively.

Link your credit and debit cards to the app, and if you spend at an Airtime Rewards retailer, you earn money into your account – and they do all the tracking for you.

Every time you shop at places like IKEA, Argos and Greggs, you’ll be earning money into your account.

Money earned can be used to pay for your mobile phone bills, or bring the cost down at the end of each month.

3. Jam Doughnut – £200 in average savings a year

Other cashback apps take a while for cashback to clear – but if you want it instantly, then you’ll want to use Jam Doughnut.

If you’re about to buy from a retailer, you can buy a gift card for the amount you’re going to spend on Jam Doughnut, and you’ll be given cashback instantly.

Usually it’s between 1-10%, but if you do it each time you’re eating at a restaurant like Nando’s, shopping online at Amazon, or even getting groceries at Tesco and Asda – you can make money back on your spending.

4. Stocard – £20 in average savings a year

If you don’t want loyalty cards cluttering your wallet and purse, this app is a lifesaver.

Stocard lets you add all of your loyalty cards to one app, which gives you QR codes on your phone that you can scan when you’re in a shop.

You can use Stocard when you have no internet connection too, which is handy.

It saves a lot of faff, and getting those extra scans in can add to your loyalty card balances to earn you greater rewards.

5. Shopmium – £100 in average savings a year

To save cash in the supermarket, get money back when you buy supermarket products with Shopmium.

It’s a cashback app full of rotating offers that might include 50p off Warburton’s bread, or £1 off Kellogg’s cereal.

If you see a deal you like, buy the item, and take a picture of the receipt to prove you’ve bought it, and you’ll get cashback into your account within a few days.

It’s basically like digital coupons, that are a lot easier to use.

There’s no faffing around at the till, just make a list of the items you want to buy with cashback offers on.

6. Asda Rewards – £300 in average savings a year

Asda Rewards is the newest supermarket loyalty scheme, but it’s already on my top 10 list.

There are 100s of items in store with cashback on it.

If you have the app, and scan your QR code at the till, you’ll start earning money into your account if you buy them.

Most months, you’ll also find “missions” which include getting £1 free cashback for the first four or five days you scan your QR code – with no minimum spend.

These are a great way to earn free cashback, if you spend 10p on a banana and scan your code.

Also, NHS workers get a blanket 10% cashback added to your account with every shop, when you add your Blue Light Card. That alone can save you £100s per year.

How can I save on my supermarket shop?

THERE are plenty of ways to save on your grocery shop.

You can look out for yellow or red stickes on products, which show when they’ve been reduced.

If the food is fresh, you’ll have to eat it quickly or freeze it for another time.

Making a list should also save you money, as you’ll be less likely to make any rash purchases when you get to the supermarket.

Going own brand can be one easy way to save hundreds of pounds a year on your food bills too.

This means ditching “finest” or “luxury” products and instead going for “own” or value” type of lines.

Plenty of supermarkets run wonky veg and fruit schemes where you can get cheap prices if they’re misshapen or imperfect.

For example, Lidl runs its Waste Not scheme, offering boxes of 5kg of fruit and vegetables for just £1.50.

If you’re on a low income and a parent, you may be able to get up to £442 a year in Healthy Start vouchers to use at the supermarket too.

Plus, many councils offer supermarket vouchers as part of the Household Support Fund.

7. Petrol Prices – £150 in average savings a year

If you need to fill up your car, you can find the cheapest pump in your local area with an app called PetrolPrices.

You’ll be given the costs of petrol and diesel, so you know which one to fill up at with the best prices.

It’s also very handy if you’re in a place you don’t know, as it’ll direct you to the petrol station.

Saving 5p per litre difference might not sound like a lot, but that’d be £3 a tank you’re saving.

If you fill up a lot, it adds up.

8. Too Good To Go – £100 in average savings a year

A great way to combat food waste – and also bag a bargain.

At the end of the day, restaurants and supermarkets will sell mystery bags of their expiring stock on Too Good To Go for people to collect.

You’d usually spend between £2-4 on a “magic bag”, and quite often you receive £10+ of expiring food, which can still be eaten, but would otherwise have gone in the bin.

You can find options from supermarkets like Morrisons and Co-op, and restaurants such as Costa, Toby Carvery and Pizza Express.

It’s first come first served each day – so be vigilant if there’s a deal you want.

9. Biscuit – £240 in average savings a year

If you have a dog, you can be paid to walk them.

Biscuit is an app that tracks your dog walks, and gives you points which you can exchange for vouchers to your favourite retailers.

If you have two dogs, and walk them every day – you could earn £20 a month in vouchers (£240 a year), which can be used on Amazon, Nando’s, Deliver and many more.

10. Red By Dufry – £10 in average savings a year

If you’re jetting off on holiday soon, you need Red By Dufry installed.

It’s a loyalty scheme for World Duty Free shops worldwide.

But just for signing up, you get 5% off near enough everything when you scan your QR code.

It’s especially handy when buying perfumes and Toblerones before a flight.

The discount isn’t available on cigarettes and alcohol, but might make your next trip to the duty free shop that little bit cheaper.
