Eager bargain hunters are itching to get their hands on the handy summer essential.

Posting to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook, one wrote “bargain fans in Tesco” and shared a photo of the shelf at her local store.

The oscillating fan is reduced by a whopping £16.50 in a bid to clear stock.

Fellow shoppers commented on the post more than 500 times, with dozens shocked at the low price and calling it a “bargain”.

One wrote: “Can I have 12?”

Another commented: “At that price I could have one in each room.”

A third said: “These would be perfect for the girls’ rooms.”

Alongside the 14inch fan, Tesco is also selling a larger 31inch model for just £8.

The fans are both only available in store at this price as they are both still listed for £22 and £32 respectively on the website.

The 14inch model is  (H) 39.2cm x (W) 13.5cm x (D) 13cm approximately and uses 40W of electricity.

It comes with a 1.8m fitted lead attached and has three speed settings and its angle can be adjusted.

Do bear in mind that when prices are reduced by this much it’s usually in order for stores to clear excess stock, so prices and stock will vary from store to store.

It’s always best to phone ahead to your local shop to check what they have available to avoid disappointment.

You can also find your local store by using the online locator on the website where you will be able to find a telephone number and opening times.

Remember that prices vary by brand, size and retailer so it’s worth having a browse elsewhere before you make a decision.

You can compare the cost of similar products from other retailers using price comparison tools like Google Shopping.

We had a look online to see if we could beat Tesco’s low price.

Amazon is selling a 14″ fan for £25 online, while B&Q has one for £22.50.

Argos is also selling the same size gadget for £26.

Savvy Home Bargains shoppers have spotted a 32″ tower fan for £19.99 in the popular discount store.

Wilko has a similar model too for £26.00, and delivery was slightly more costly at £4.95.

Tesco’s reduced deal is the best offer we could find at the moment, but bear in mind that prices change all the time.
