TESCO has launched an all new Easter treat – throwing together two British tea time classics.
The supermarket giant is selling hot cross SCONES in time for the April celebrations this year.

Brits can hardly pass up the chance to munch down on a hot cross bun in the spring time.
But now Tesco has married the traditional flavour of a hot cross bun with another British staple – and as a result it’s created the hot cross scone.
The hybrid product is exclusive to Tesco and shoppers can pick up a pack of two for just £1.
They’re available both online and in-store for shoppers to add to their grocery – or Easter – basket.
Nicola Orchard, product development manager at Tesco said: “Our new Hot Cross Scones combine the crumble of a scone with the fruity flavour of a hot cross bun, and we expect them to be huge a hit with our customers this Easter.
“As with traditional scones, you can serve with Cornish cream and a touch of strawberry jam – but the big question is, do you put your jam or cream on first?”

The scones are part of Tesco’s Finest range, but they’re not the only variation available at the store this Easter.
Tesco also has blueberry flavoured hot cross buns on offer this year, plus hot cross bun bread and butter pudding which is all new too.
The new products join Tesco’s existing hot cross bun flavours as well, including salted caramel and chocolate, apple and cinnamon, St Clements, and Extra Fruity.
All of the hot cross buns cost £1.50 for a pack of four, but shoppers who have a Tesco Clubcard can slash that price to £1.
That makes them the same price as the new scone addition, while having double the number of treats in a pack.
The store also sells regular packs of six hot cross buns for 89p with a Clubcard – which makes the larger pack 11p cheaper than the fancy new hybrids.
Other supermarkets could give Tesco a run for its money for the crown of best hot cross buns though – a blind supermarket taste test of the treats deemed Lidl a close second.
Last year we tried the novelty hot cross buns available on the high street, including extra chocolate and marmite and cheese.
This year you can try a bonkers pizza flavour buns if you’re feeling adventurous.
