SUPERMARKET giant Tesco axed a number of deliveries following an IT glitch and customers were left furious.
One of the UK’s biggest supermarkets said it had to cancel some orders yesterday following an “intermittent technical issue”.
A number of customers went online sharing their frustration at the cancellations.
One customer, tagging Tesco, tweeted: “Not impressed. Order cancelled today. No call or text.
“Arrived home and sat around waiting for the delivery. No slots available until the weekend for another delivery.”
A second customer said: “What happened today? You simply cancelled my order that was due to be delivered at 9.00 am for no reason!
“Told me there would be no delivery at 9.59am.
“What’s going on? Called on the phone any times but no one answered.
A third added: “So having been a Tesco customer for years, and having a delivery every Tuesday for as long as I can remember, today we get this… On the day of delivery, less than 12 hours to go.”
A Tesco spokesperson said: “We have resolved an intermittent technical issue that resulted in some cancelled orders yesterday.

“We’re sorry to customers who were affected.”
Tesco said it will be processing refunds for customers who can expect to see the money in their bank accounts within three to five working days.
Cancelled orders will not be redelivered so customers will have to re-order.
Last August, the supermarket axed all home deliveries due to a huge “technical glitch”.
Shoppers calling up the supermarket were being told all orders after 1pm on August 19 had been cancelled.
In good news, the month before it brought back its 12-month delivery passes. The plans start from £2.49 a month.
And in February this year, Tesco announced it would be expanding its Whoosh rapid delivery service to get groceries to customers’ doors within just an hour.
The initiative launched at a Tesco Express store in Wolverhampton, Willenhall, 19 months ago.
But the service is now being rolled out to a further 800 Tesco Express stores across the country.
