The suspect in a South Carolina mall shooting, which left nine wounded, has been released on house arrest and ordered to wear an ankle monitor after a judge set a $25,000 surety bond.
Suspect Jewayne Price is also barred from contacting any of the victims of the shooting, according to a tweet posted by the Columbia Police Department.
Price will be allowed to travel from his home to work while on house arrest.
NBC News was not immediately able to contact Price or his attorney for comment.
Initially three people were suspected in the shooting and detained but two were released, officials said.
The shooting, which happened at Columbiana Centre on Saturday, left 14 people injured — nine from gunshots and five who were hurt while fleeing.
Police Chief W. H. “Skip” Holbrook initially said 10 people had been struck by gunfire in the shooting, including two people who were critically injured, and two others were injured while fleeing, before revising the number.
In addition to the nine with gunshot wounds, other injuries include broken bones, lacerations and a head injury sustained while fleeing, police said Saturday night.
The victims range in age from 15 to 73.
All the injured have been treated and released except a 73-year-old woman, who remained hospitalized, the Columbia Police Department said Saturday night.
South Carolina has seen a number of mass shootings over the weekend. Early Sunday, a shooting at a club in Hampton County left at least nine people injured.
The State Law Enforcement Division said in an email there were no reported fatalities in the Easter morning shooting at the club in Hampton County. No information was immediately available on the severity of the injuries.
The SLED says it was asked to investigate by the Hampton County Sheriff’s Office.
