A STUNNING Victorian home in London has gone on the market for £1.35million – but there’s a very big catch.

The head-turning three-storey property in Islington boasts four double bedrooms and a garden.

It lies in a quiet tree-lined street near the Emirates Stadium, just moments from Drayton Park Tube.

But the lucky new owner will need to be a dab hand at DIY – or prepared to shell out tens of thousands of pounds to a master builder.

That’s because the gorgeous home is in a state of complete disrepair.

The scale of the work needed to transform the address isn’t obvious from the outside.

But anyone who crosses the threshold will be left in no doubt of the graft required.

Carpets have been torn from floors, leaving them bare.

In one room, seventies-style graphic wallpaper still hangs, and an electric fire stands in the grate.

The kitchen is in a particularly poor state. Part of the ceiling has fallen in, and a wall appears to be rotting.

And even the most green-fingered of buyers may suddenly develop a black thumb with a single look at the garden.

The plot is completely overgrown with weeds and brambles.

A photographer taking pictures for the sale appears to have been unable to set foot outside at all as a result of the decay.

However, for ambitious and very well-heeled house-hunters, the property in Bryantwood Road offers an amazing opportunity.

Agents at Chesterton say: “The house is in need of top-to-toe refurbishment, providing an incoming buyer the opportunity to transform, creating their own home.”

Two “good-sized” double bedrooms are on the top floor, while the second two can be found on the first floor.

FRIGHTMOVE

The ground floor boasts a “wonderfully impressive” reception room “capped by the beautiful bay window”, the agents say. Downstairs, there’s even a cellar for additional space.

Nearby is busy Holloway Road, with its shops, restaurants and bars, and four stations, including Highbury and Islington.

Hidden gem Gillespie Park is also on the doorstep. The local secret hides a nature reserve in inner city London.

It’s not the only fixer-upper on the market at the moment – although many are significantly cheaper.

A two-storey property set in 4.5 acres of land is available for £80,000 in stunning Sanday, Orkney.

But the state of the home really does need to be seen to be believed.

‘WONDERFULLY IMPRESSIVE’

The building appears to be little more than a stone edifice.

There are no dividing walls inside at all, and the property is completely full of building materials – suggesting it’s only ever been used for storage.

Elsewhere, a home with a huge garden in Spalding, Lincolnshire has gone on the market for just £10,000 – but there’s a huge problem.

The property offers two reception rooms, a kitchen and three “well-proportioned” rooms.

But it will need a complete renovation by an experienced builder before a family can make it their own again.

That’s because it was gutted by a terrible fire just four months ago.

And a one-bed flat in south London will go under the hammer for £150,000, but it’s in terrible state both inside and out.

Walls have been stripped, while carpets have been torn up. The garden is completely overgrown, with vines left untended for so long they reach into an indoor bathroom.
