Sinn Féin vice-president hails move after MLAs back petition – but DUP dismisses recall as a ‘stunt’

The Stormont assembly is to meet on Monday in a new attempt to nominate a Speaker after more than 30 members of the legislative assembly (MLAs) signed a recall petition.

The Sinn Féin vice-president, Michelle O’Neill, said it was important that the assembly “meets to get down to business” and started delivering for the public.
