SPOTIFY Wrapped is one of the highlights of the musical year – but when is it happening?
We’re now likely very close to the official Spotify Wrapped release date, thankfully.

Spotify Wrapped is the annual compilation of your listening habits on the app over the past year.
It reveals your likes and your loves – and then packages it in a neat, shareable form.
The fact that the results can be shared means it’s an exciting time on social media, with music fans posting their top-five line-ups.
Spotify doesn’t reveal the release date ahead of time, but it’s easy enough to guess.

It’s impossible to say exactly when Spotify Wrapped will come out.
But we can make an educated guess based on previous years.
Spotify follows a very clear trend year after year.

Here’s the Spotify Wrapped release date history…
- 2021 – Wednesday, December 1
- 2020 – Wednesday, December 2
- 2019 – Thursday, December 5
- 2018 – Thursday, December 6
- 2017 – Wednesday, December 6
The trend here is plain as day: you’re looking at the first Wednesday or Thursday in December.
Based on the past five years (and the two previous Wrapped releases), Wednesday appears to be the most popular day.
That would put this year’s Spotify Wrapped as releasing on Wednesday, December 7.
However that would also be the latest Spotify Wrapped we’ve seen.
So it’s also possible that Spotify could instead go with Thursday, December 1.
Spotify did recently release its Spotify Festival read-out, which may mean the app wants some breathing room before Wrapped.
That could mean that the December 7 release is more likely.
We’ll find out soon enough.
