The Bank of England spent over £50,000 on redesigning its logo, which was ridiculed for looking almost identical to its old one.
Responding to a freedom of information request from the Mail, the Bank said it paid three marketing firms and a photographer to work on the rebrand.
Threadneedle Street unveiled its new emblem last month, saying it was ‘more inclusive’.

It still features Britannia, the female warrior said to personify Britain, who has been the mascot since it was founded in 1694.
The main differences seemed to be that Britannia’s shield is now emblazoned with the Union Jack, rather than the Cross of St George and the pile of coins at her feet disappeared.
The Bank paid £6,720 for the design to Epic Icon, creator of the illustrated character for soft drink Irn Bru and the Premier League trophy icon.
It paid £14,809.27 to Lee Funnell, who took pictures for ‘visual identity’, and £7,728 to Red Sofa for ‘animation guidelines and film’.
The largest expenditure was changing the font which the Bank types its name in, from block capitals to a more rounded, lower-case version. This cost £22,337.22, paid to Monotype.
