NETFLIX lovers could get to see their favourite shows at Vue cinemas this year.

Vue chief executive Tim Richards has said he is in talks to show fan favourites such as the Queen’s Gambit.

The cinema boss has also previously announced that the chain is hoping to host video games events and to show live sports such as the football.

He told the Mail on Sunday: “Why wouldn’t you want to watch an incredible Netflix show like Queen’s Gambit on a big screen with your friends and family? Or HBO’s Game Of Thrones – that would be incredible.'”

Vue has 227 cinemas around the world with 90 of them located in the UK.

It is planning partnerships with BT Sport, Sky and ITV to show Premier League football, Champions League games and even boxing.

The chain is also carrying out trials which could let gamers play on the ginormous screens.

You’ll even be able to get a culture fix as Vue will be airing theatre, opera and comedy.

Chain founder Tim Richards, told the Sun: “I have spent a lot of time working with studios on building a new business model, which I see as the future of our industry. We are in active talks.”

He added: “At Vue, we pride ourselves on our innovation. We plan to show high-quality entertainment.”

The cinema chain invested in thousands of reclining seats and other refurbishments before cinemas were allowed to reopen on May 17, spending £60million across Europe.

It also launched snack and seat self-order screens in seven venues and added brand new premium bars to a number of foyers.
